What if you can automate most of the process to save time and enhance staff efficiency? Join this session to learn best practices for gathering and preparing data by using products such as CCH Axcess™ Tax, CCH Axcess™ Document, CCH Axcess™ Portal, CCH Axcess™ Client Collaboration, and CCH® My1040Data. TAX
COVID-19 Tax Changes Affecting Individuals

Numerous and often complex tax changes in COVID-19 legislation affect all individuals. The changes include 2020 rebates most eligible individuals already received, but some may have more to claim on their 2020 return. The legislation also included favorable provisions for self-employed individuals, expanded charitable contribution possibilities, and the ability to pull (and later return) funds from retirement plans. Changes also included some undoing of the TCJA and the need for amended returns. This presentation addresses the COVID-19 legislative changes pertaining to individuals with an emphasis on due diligence and planning considerations.

COVID-19 and Information Security: Lessons Learned and How to Plan Your Offramp

Even before COVID-19, technology staff at accounting firms struggled with the challenges of securely meeting user demands. During this crisis, firms were quickly forced to balance the responsibilities of controlling the security perimeter, protecting firm data, and providing access to the workplace worldwide. Malicious actors and state adversaries have taken advantage of the vulnerabilities introduced during these sometimes chaotic, unplanned shifts. This session will review lessons learned from COVID related breaches and attacks, how to design an "off-ramp" and remediate security issues when the firm can resume in-person operations, and practices and tools firms can adopt to address ongoing operational or technical flaws in their security posture.
