What is e-Collect, and why are we switching from 3Fund to e-Collect?
e-Collect is the new refund transfer program replacing 3Fund. It offers the same core benefits, letting clients pay tax prep fees from their refund and apply for refund advance loans in Taxwise, but with better pricing, improved reliability, and enhanced features.
Why are we changing these products to EPS?
e-Collect, backed by EPS, ensures stronger alignment with current industry standards and regulatory requirements.
How does e-Collect compare to 3Fund?
Prices below are accurate as of July 9, 2025.

*Current 3Fund customers not paying the $19 WK Tech Fee will see a net savings of $10.95 on bank fees, offset slightly by a $12 tech fee, resulting in a $1.05 increase in total cost—but with significantly better service and support.
What are the steps to transition from 3Fund to e-Collect?
Starting October 1, 2025, customers can enroll in e-Collect through (https://enrollments.taxwise.com or https://enrollments.atxinc.com). Most of your 3Fund info will be pre-filled. Simply review and update any changes and answer a few new compliance questions. First-time EPS enrollees will need to upload a photo ID for KYC (Know Your Customer) verification, so have the owner’s ID ready.
When enrolling, be sure to select EPS as your bank partner and then select e-Collect from the product selections within the EPS application.
Will 3Fund still be available for this upcoming tax season?
No. 3Fund will be fully retired and unavailable for Tax Year 2025 filings. It will be replaced by e-Collect.
Will using e-Collect change my current processes or software workflow?
No. There will be no significant changes. e-Collect is fully integrated into TaxWise and ATX just like 3Fund. You will select EPS as the bank product and proceed as usual. We've put together a 3Fund vs. e-Collect Enrollment Comparison document for additional details.
Are all the same disbursement options and products available in e-Collect as in 3Fund?
Yes. e-Collect offers the same choices and refund-related products your clients had with 3Fund. There will be no changes to how your clients receive their money.
Any other changes to be aware of?
Yes, a few key updates:
- Compliance Training: With e-Collect, EROs must complete compliance training before supplies are shipped (previously required before the first RT application with 3Fund)
- ID Verification: Most offices will need to upload a copy of the owner’s ID during their first year of e-Collect enrollment, unless recently enrolled.
- Faster Support: e-Collect customer service is lightning fast thanks to:
	- Robust self-service tools and reports on the EPS support site
- Online chat and electronic exception form submission
- All support handled by EPS with no 3rd party involvement
 
- Simplified Service: EPS manages both credit card processing and debit cards internally, so the same rep can help with multiple issues.
What happens if I want to stay with sbtpg, the current servicer of 3Fund?
3Fund will no longer be able to be utilized. e-Collect was designed to deliver greater value for both you and your clients.
