Everything You Need to Know
Starting October 1, 2025, the FeeCollect program will be rebranded as PayLater. This transition introduces a new banking partner: EPS, powered by Pathward Bank.
While the program’s core structure, benefits, and customer experience remain the same, support tools are enhanced for a smoother setup ahead of tax season. There will be no service interruptions.
Is the pricing or fee structure changing under PayLater?
No, the pricing and structure remain the same. This is a backend transition only, designed to be seamless for you.
What is changing with the switch from sbtpg to EPS (Pathward) as the bank partner?
EPS/Pathward replaces sbtpg as the bank partner. EROs now use EPS’s portal for all PayLater tasks. Taxpayer documents will show Pathward’s name and routing info.
Will EROs still use sbtpg’s platforms for anything?
FeeCollect PS (for regulated states like AR, CT, IL, MD, ME, NY) will still use sbtpg’s system. All other PayLater activities move to EPS/Pathward.
Do EROs need to re-enroll or provide new information for PayLater?
Yes. EROs must complete a new enrollment in EPS’s system due to the bank change. Some data fields may differ, and we’ll guide you through the process.
Will the disbursement options or features change (e.g., debit card option)?
Yes, PayLater removes the prepaid debit card option. Taxpayers can still use direct deposit or reload funds to a previously used card.
How will the transition impact support for EROs?
Support shifts from sbtpg to EPS/Pathward. EROs will use EPS’s portal and helpline, with faster service and live chat. Our internal PayLater team remains available to assist.
Who or what is The PayLater Team?
It’s our internal team managing PayLater program and is the same group of experts who ran FeeCollect. The name reflects the new program, but the people and support remain unchanged.
What should EROs or staff do if they have questions during the transition?
Use official support channels including Customer Care, sales reps, or the PayLater microsite. Avoid external sites; all accurate information comes from Wolters Kluwer and Pathward.
